Giving Back

On Christmas Day (Saturday, Dec 25) - At Oasis (1813 M Street NW, Washington, DC), the party kept in mind the spirit of Christmas and held a fundraiser and toy drive for DC. Ebou Taal, Terry Fraiser, Todd Hamilton, Ousman Ba, and DJ Armageddon presented "A Christmas Story", a fundraiser and toy drive goaled to support The Enchanting Women Foundation. EWF’s mission is to provide service to disadvantaged teens, battered women, homeless women, and female entrepreneurs. During the event, party-goers were able to take a sneak peak at the new retractable rooftop at Oasis and complimentary admission was granted to all those who donated a Toy. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres were served from 8pm – 10pm and a Complimentary Open Bar was open from 8pm – 10pm. DJ Analyze and DJ Armageddon were behind the tables.

I just received a message from Ebou Taal saying-
The toy drive was a huge success. We got over 200 toys donated and raised $1500, with which we bought more toys to distribute to children in the low income areas in DC and in shelters.
The true meaning behind Christmas is the act of giving to others. Congrats to the entire team on a job well done from start to finish.

On Monday, Dec 27 - In Baltimore, The Fab Empire did some giving of their own. They collaborated with E4GP, Divas, and others for "Coats and Cocktails" where they raised over 200 coats for the homeless of the DMV. This was The Fab Empire's 3rd year of holding this charitable event. It was supported by the finest in Baltimore Nightlife. It was great to see so many people having a good time, all around a huge pile of coats they had all donated. This posh event demonstrated that you can have a good time while contributing to a good cause. The music was soulful and light, served by DJ P-Chris, and the atmosphere was refreshing.
