Late last month, the Cordish Company celebrated the ground-breaking of Maryland Live! – the soon-to-be Arundel Mills new casino. The Mills' new casino continues to be a controversial issue as people are still divided as to whether or not a casino, and gambling activities, should take place at a family mall.
Maryland Live! will be a 300,000 sq ft casino with 4,750 slot and electric games; making it the largest gaming facility in Maryland. Thus far, Rams Head Live and restaurants such as Bobby Flay, Cheesecake Factory, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Obrycki Seafood have already attached their names to this project. Maryland Live! will be the only gaming facility in Maryland to be built by a Maryland Minority-Owned Business Enterprise.

This controversy should be dead and buried by now. It is disgusting that a power-house casino operator such as Penn National Gaming would stoop to such low levels to protect it's bottom line in West Virginia. The voters in Anne Arundel County have decided OVERWHELMINGLY to allow Mr. Cordish to continue with his plans on building Maryland Live! at Arundel Mills. Vote over. Go HOME Penn National! You have a casino in Perryville, so be happy with it. You are lucky the Maryland General Assembly hasn't kicked you out of the state yet. This is, in evry interested parties' opinion, just another delay that Maryland does not need. Brought on by a few cry-baby residents and a money-hungry lawyer (Blumenthal). Get over it all ready...you lost!
